This 1977 Lotus Eclat Sprint was delivered to Lind Brothers Motors of Waterloo, Iowa, and it is said to have remained with its original owner until 2019. Subsequent work is said to have included fluid changes along with replacing the cam belt, rear wheel cylinders, and tires. Powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission, the car is finished in yellow over tan upholstery. Equipment includes 13″ alloy wheels, pop-up headlights, polished trim, an Alpine cassette stereo, and power windows. This Eclat was sold on BaT in December 2022 before it was purchased by the selling dealer in 2025, and it is now offered in New York at no reserve with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, and a clean Connecticut title.
The car is finished in yellow with black bumpers and bodyside molding. Exterior details include a hood vent, a single windshield wiper, a front air dam, a body-color fuel filler cap, pop-up headlights, and fog lights along with bright mirror caps, window and rocker panel trim, and door handles. Wrinkles are visible on the front bumper, and close-up photos of exterior imperfections are viewable in the gallery below.
Optional 12-spoke 13″ alloy wheels are mounted with 205/60 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires and a spare is stored in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by front disc brakes and inboard rear drums. Service in 2019 reportedly included replacing the tires and rear wheel cylinders along with flushing the brake fluid.
The front and rear bucket seats are trimmed in tan cloth with vinyl bolsters and are contrasted by brown sueded upholstery on the dashboard and center console. Appointments include an analog clock, a wooden shift knob, a fire extinguisher stored in the lockable glove compartment, power windows, woodgrain trim, and an Alpine cassette stereo linked to a graphic equalizer.
The leather-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation featuring a 140-mph speedometer, a 7,500-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 10k miles, approximately 143 of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.0L 16-valve Lotus 907 inline-four features dual overhead camshafts and twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. The cam belt, a radiator hose, and the voltage stabilizer were replaced in 2019, and an oil change was performed in 2022. The previous listing for the car notes an oil leak from a cam cover gasket.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The included window sticker shows initial delivery to Lind Brothers Motors of Waterloo, Iowa, and a dealer’s supplementary price list displays a total price of $18,014.
