1971 Lamborghini Espada Series II 5-Speed

This 1971 Lamborghini Espada is one of 575 Series II examples produced between 1970 and 1972 and was completed in June 1970. First registered in France in early 1971, the car is said to have participated in the 25th and 50th Lamborghini anniversary celebrations in Sant’Agata. It is finished in Argento over a black and tobacco interior and is powered by a 3,929cc quad-cam V12 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a quad-exit exhaust, six Weber carburetors, 15″ Campagnolo cast magnesium center-lock wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, louvered roof vents, dual NACA hood vents, a passenger-side-mounted Siegburg radio, air conditioning, power windows, and front and rear bucket seats. This S2 Espada was purchased by its current owner, a licensed German retail dealership, in 2024 and is now offered on their behalf in Göttingen, Germany, with French registration.
The Espada featured a Marcello Gandini-designed body built by Bertone and debuted at the 1968 Geneva Motor Show. The Series II debuted at the 1970 Brussels Motor Show and featured a revised dashboard design. This example is finished in Argento (898) and features an aluminum hood with NACA ducts as well as a fixed glass tail panel above the taillights, a wire-mesh grille, an electrically heated rear window, pop-out side windows, louvered roof vents, and a quad-outlet exhaust system. Various exterior blemishes are highlighted in the photo gallery.
The 15″ Campagnolo cast magnesium center-lock wheels are mounted with 215/70 Pirelli P4000 SuperTouring tires, and braking is handled by discs at each corner.
The front and rear bucket seats are trimmed in black leather, which has cracked in various areas. Interior equipment includes brown carpets, a passenger-side-mounted Siegburg radio, a center console, air conditioning, and power windows.
The three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 300-km/h speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for water temperature, fuel level, oil temperature, amperage, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and shows 9k kilometers (~6k miles), approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership.
The 3,929cc V12 features two overhead camshafts per bank and six Weber 40 DCOE carburetors. Output was factory rated at 350 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
The seller, a BaT Local Partner, offers shipping, importation, and titling support at an additional cost. Please inquire directly with the seller with questions about these services. The vehicle is being sold on its French registration, which serves as an ownership document.
